Low-Cost Vaccination Clinics

North Beach PAWS to Host Five Pet Vaccination Clinics Across Western Washington

Grays Harbor County, Washington - April 2, 2024 - North Beach PAWS, a non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare, has announced plans to conduct a series of pet vaccination clinics at various locations in Western Washington throughout the year. Following the success of two clinics held in 2023, where over 300 animals received vaccinations and microchips, North Beach PAWS aims to extend its outreach to pet owners in the region.

Under Washington State law, all dogs and cats are required to be vaccinated against rabies. North Beach PAWS emphasizes the importance of vaccination not only against rabies but also against other prevalent diseases such as distemper, which can be contracted from wildlife. Vaccinations play a crucial role in preventing these diseases and ensuring the well-being of pets.

In a statement released by North Beach PAWS, they highlighted, "Thanks to vaccinations, numerous common diseases are entirely preventable. A microchip is the only permanent identification that can reunite you with your beloved lost pet. Unlike collars and ID tags that can break or get lost, a microchip will last for the life of your pet."

Pet owners can avail vaccinations and microchips for $20 each at the clinics. Core vaccines include rabies, DAPP, and Bordetella for dogs, and rabies, FVRCP, and flea treatment for cats.

The clinics are scheduled as follows:

  • Rochester - May 19: 1 to 4 p.m. at the Feed Bin.

  • Westport - June 15: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Beach Regional Fire Authority Training Center.

  • Montesano - July 14: 1 to 4 p.m. at Farm and Home.

  • Aberdeen - Aug. 10: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Grays Harbor College.

  • Ocean Shores - Sept. 21: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ACE Hardware.

Each event operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Dogs must be leashed, and cats must be in carriers. For additional information, interested individuals can contact North Beach PAWS at 360-660-4660.

North Beach PAWS, founded in 2002 by longtime Ocean Shores resident Lorna Valdez, operates as an all-volunteer, no-kill animal shelter, committed to providing compassionate care to animals in need.
